The press is supposed to be the watchdog, reporting, investigating and revealing the shennanigans of the other two, not to pay off and subvert them. This is parasitic. The politicians are supposed to act in the public good, to serve and minister, not to be "good buddies" in order to curry favour and get "good publicity. This is incestuous. The police is there to protect the rights of the people by upholding the laws and to investigate and arrest miscreants, not to overlook infringementf or to profit from leaking information and be paid. This is also parasitic. A symbiotic "cabal" was created, which benefitted each and it has brought disrepute to each
A wimpy parliamentary committee was set up to look into the allegations, but it soon started to swoon and act like a lapdog instead. What took place at the "hearing" was a travesty. The three witnesses were allowed to shed crocodile tears in public and deny any wrongdoing, and off they went, blaming "the lower downs".
The police head and his deputy were forced to resign. Some "lower downs", were arrested, but the Murdochs, for the time being are free to get on with "whatever". David Cameron, who has had mlore than 26 meetings with Murdoch media employees is yet to show that he is not compromised. What a hoax.
